Overview of Cinnamaldehyde CAS 104-55-2
Cinnamaldehyde is commonly referred to as cinnamaldehyde, and it is naturally present in Sri Lankan cinnamon oil, cinnamon oil, ageratum oil, hyacinth oil and rose oil and other essential oils. Cinnamic aldehyde has two isomers: cis and trans. Commercially available cinnamic aldehydes, whether natural or synthetic, are all trans isomers.

Preparation of Cinnamaldehyde CAS 104-55-2
Add 60mL of 25% sulfuric acid and 13gCe(NO3)3.2H2O to the anode cell, and magnetically stir to dissolve the cerium salt. Add an appropriate amount of 25% sulfuric acid to the cathode chamber, turn on the DC stabilized power supply for electrolysis, control the relative current density to 0.2A/20cm2, and electrolyze for 8.2 hours. Transfer the anolyte to a 250mL three-necked flask, add 1.349 cinnamyl alcohol, and stir the reaction at 5-10°C. When the bright yellow color of the solution fades, it is the end of the reaction. The reaction solution was extracted with ether (15 mL×3 times), and the extracted reaction solution was used to regenerate Ce4+. The ether extract was dried with anhydrous sodium sulfate, filtered, and the ether was evaporated. Chromatographic analysis shows that the yield of cinnamaldehyde is 90%
