Description
Tantalum pentoxide is also called “tantalum anhydride”, white orthorhombic crystals. Its chemical properties are relatively stable, resistant to common acids and alkalis, and will not be corroded by hydrogen chloride or hydrogen bromide when heated. The eutectic with alkali metal hydroxide or carbonate can obtain the corresponding insoluble tantalate, which is hydrolyzed to produce hydrated tantalum pentoxide precipitate after washing with water.
Application
It is used for pulling lithium tantalate single crystal and manufacturing special optical glass with high refraction and low dispersion. It can be used as a catalyst in chemical industry.
