Fluorescein is a synthetic organic compound. It is a dye with photo-fluorescence characteristics. The appearance is a dark orange/red powder. It is soluble in ethanol and slightly soluble in water. Or under ultraviolet light, it emits green fluorescence.
Application
The intermediate of mercury bromide. Fluorescence analysis reagent, determination of chlorine, bromine, iodine, and sulfide ions; oxidation-reduction indicator reagent; biological stain.
