Description
N-Dimethylformamide is abbreviated as DMF, which is a compound produced by replacing the hydroxyl group of formic acid with a dimethylamino group. DMF is a colorless liquid with high boiling point. It is stable in the air and when heated to boiling. When the temperature is higher than 350°C, it loses water and generates carbon monoxide and dimethylamine. DMF is a good aprotic polar solvent that can dissolve most organic and inorganic substances.
