Sodium thiosulfate, also known as sodium hyposulfite, soda, and Hypo. It is a common thiosulfate, a colorless, transparent monoclinic crystal. The density is 1.729g/cm3, the melting point is 40~45°C, sodium thiosulfate is easily soluble in water, and absorbs heat after dissolving in water (cooling to remove the bottom heat), the aqueous solution is weakly alkaline, soluble in ammonia, insoluble in alcohol.

Application
1.It is used as fixer in photography, film and printing plate industry. Used as a reducing agent in tanning.
2.In the paper and textile industry, it is used to remove residual bleaching agent and as a mordant.
Used in medicine as an antidote for cyanide poisoning.
3.In water treatment, it is used as a dechlorination agent and bactericide for drinking water and wastewater; copper corrosion inhibitor for circulating cooling water; and as a deoxidizer for boiler water systems.
4.It is also used in the treatment of cyanide-containing wastewater.
