Chemical properties
Colorless tetragonal or cubic crystals. Slightly sour smell. Double crystal compound. Easily soluble in water, soluble in potassium acetate, insoluble in ethanol. The aqueous solution is acidic.
Application
Used in the manufacture of anhydrous hydrogen fluoride, pure potassium fluoride, optical glass, elemental fluorine, also used as glass etching agent, welding flux, wood preservative, etc.
