Ecological data of Glutaric acid CAS 110-94-1
This substance is harmful to the environment and can cause pollution to water bodies and the atmosphere. Organic acids are prone to form acid rain in atmospheric chemistry and atmospheric physical changes. Therefore, when the pH value drops below 5, it will cause serious harm to animals and plants, and the reproduction and development of fish will be seriously affected. The metals in the soil and bottom mud of the watershed can be dissolved into the water to poison the fish. The acidification of water will also lead to changes in the composition and structure of aquatic organisms. Acid-resistant algae and fungi will increase, while rooted plants, bacteria and vertebrates will decrease, and the decomposition rate of organic matter will decrease. After acidification, it will severely lead to the reduction or death of fish in lakes and rivers.
Nature and stability of Glutaric acid 99.5% CAS 110-94-1
1. It does not decompose under normal temperature and pressure, and it is forbidden to contact with alkalis, oxidants and reducing agents.
2. Toxic. Glutaric acid was injected under the skin of rabbits, and it was found to be severely toxic to the kidneys. Oral administration is strictly prohibited, and operators should wear masks and rubber gloves.
3. Exist in flue-cured tobacco leaves, burley tobacco leaves, oriental tobacco leaves and smoke.
4. Exist in sugar beet.
5. Generally only contains one crystal water.
Glutaric acid CAS 110-94-1 is the organic compound with the formula C3H6(COOH)2. It is kind of needle-like crystals, water soluble. Glutaric acid can be prepared by the ring-opening of butyrolactone with potassium cyanide to give the mixed potassium carboxylate-nitrile that is hydrolyzed to the diacid. Alternatively hydrolysis, by oxidation of dihydropyran gives glutaric acid. It can also be prepared from reacting 1,3-dibromopropane with sodium or potassium cyanide to obtain the dinitrile, by hydrolysis. It is stable, but incompatible with bases, oxidizing agents, reducing agents
