Chemical nature
Colorless crystalline mass with phenol odor. The solubility in water reaches 2.3% at 40℃ and 5% at 100℃. Soluble in caustic lye and common organic solvents.
Application
Used in the preparation of antioxidant 2,6-di-tert-butyl-p-cresol, rubber antioxidant, cresol-formaldehyde resin and plasticizer, used as a disinfectant in medicine, and also used in the preparation of dyes, etc.
