Solubility of Sodium Alpha-Olefin Sulfonate AOS CAS 68439-57-6
Under the same conditions, the AOS of C12, C14, C16, and C18 were measured separately. As the carbon chain grows, the solubility decreases. But it has better solubility in a wider carbon number range (C12-C18). AOS with carbon number distribution of C14 and C16 has good solubility and can be used in liquid detergents.
Wetting power of Sodium Alpha-Olefin Sulfonate AOS CAS 68439-57-6
At a room temperature of 27°C, the surfactant was prepared into a 0.1% deionized aqueous solution, and the wetting time of several surfactants was measured by the immersion method. The order of wetting force from large to small is as follows:
LAS>AOS14-16>AES≈K12>AOS14-18>MES
Foaming of Sodium Alpha-Olefin Sulfonate AOS CAS 68439-57-6
Anionic surfactants such as AOS, LAS, K12, AES have good foaming power. In comparison, AOS14-16 and AES have the best foaming properties. Under hard water and soft water conditions, the foaming power of AOS14-16, AOS14-18 and AES does not change much. However, LAS and K12 have a significantly lower foaming power in hard water due to their poor resistance to hard water. In the presence of sebum, the foaming power of AOS is slightly higher than that of AES and AS. In addition, the foam of AOS can be suppressed with soap or the like.
Hard water resistance of Sodium Alpha-Olefin Sulfonate AOS CAS 68439-57-6
Titrate the surfactant solution with CaCl2 solution, and determine whether the solution is turbid or not as the end point. The order of resistance to hard water (calculated as CaCO3) of several surfactants is as follows:
K12
Calcium soap dispersing power of Sodium Alpha-Olefin Sulfonate AOS CAS 68439-57-6
Based on acid titration and turbidimetric method, measured at 40°C and room temperature 20°C, respectively, calcium soap of surfactants such as α-enyl sulfonate, alcohol ether sulfate, fatty acid methyl sulfonate, etc. Dispersion characteristics, the order of dispersing power from weak to strong is:
LAS
