Chemical nature
White needle-like crystals. Melting point is 168°C (slow heating), 176-178°C (rapid heating). It is soluble in alcohol and ether and can be sublimated. It gradually became red in the air.

Application
Pharmaceutical intermediates. Chemical analysis of precipitation agents, reagents for analysis of bismuth, copper, nickel and copper. Salicylic hydroxamic acid can form stable chelates with tin, tungsten, rare earth, copper, iron and other metals, and form unstable chelates with alkaline earth metals and alkali metals. Therefore, salicylic hydroxamic acid has good selectivity. In particular, when salicylic hydroxamic acid is chelated with cassiterite, it can not only form various forms of external complex salts, but also form internal complex salts of different compositions. Therefore, salicylic hydroxamic acid has a strong selectivity to tin. This product is usually used with P86 in cassiterite beneficiation, and has a certain foaming property.
