Carbomer 20 (INCI Name: Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer) is a hydrophobically modified cross-linked acrylate copolymer, providing moderate-to high viscosity with smooth flow properties. It delivers excellent thickening efficiency at a broad pH range which makes it a good choice for wide applications. Carbomer 20 self- wets and disperses quickly in minutes, which remarkably meets formulators’ ease-use need. It have higher electrolyte tolerance and handle a higher level of surfactant actives, being ideally suited for use in formulations containing higher levels of oils, botanical ingredients, or actives like Sodium PCA. Even at high concentration, Carbomer20 maintains excellent clarity.

Formula Guidelines

- Typical use 0.2 to 1.5 wt%

- Sprinkle polymer on surface of water and allow to self- wet   

- Agitation must be processed gently

- Pre- or post-neutralization is workable, depending on application
