Production method of Furazolidone CAS 67-45-8
1. Using ethanolamine as a raw material, it is condensed with urea to obtain β-hydroxyethyl urea, which is nitrosated and cyclized to obtain 3-nitroso-2-oxazolidinone. It is further reduced with iron powder, and then condensed with 5-nitro-2-furfuryl glycol diacetate and formaldehyde to obtain furazolidone.
2. Condensation of ethanolamine and urea, nitrosation and cyclization with sodium nitrite, and finally reduction with iron powder, and condensation with 5-nitro-2-furfuryldiol diacetate and formaldehyde to obtain furazolidone.

 
Use of Furazolidone CAS 67-45-8
This product has a broad-spectrum antibacterial effect and is effective against common Gram-negative and positive bacteria. However, it is difficult to absorb after oral administration, so the concentration of the drug in the intestine is high. It is clinically suitable for various intestinal infections, such as enteritis and diarrhea.
